Institute frontman Moses Brown goes solo with “demented glam rock” new single ‘Alphabet Au Pair’ for his new project Peace De Résistance. The project deviates from the heavy hardcore and post-punk sounds of Brown’s precious projects; here distinctive 70s rock and roll songwriting is channelled through lo-fi production and punk aesthetics to create a poppy yet dark atmosphere. Brown’s lyrics add to this atmosphere of unease, “I can’t get rid of my Au Pair” referencing Amazon’s omnipresent Alexa machines and the constant state of surveillance in modern life. Following on from 2020’s Hedgemakers EP the new single is taken from upcoming debut LP Bits and Pieces due on 13th April on Brown’s own label Peace De Records. -Toby Evans-Jesra
